Paintings Made From Plant Colors Are Exhibited

Now the time has come. With excitement and pride, the children of the “Färbergarten AG garden school” under the direction of Verena Steinert exhibit their self-painted pictures in the Museum Voswinckelshof.

These pictures take a few hours of work. The motif was found quickly, it should be sunflowers as they can be found in the garden school logo. The production of the colors, however, was more difficult. Only colors from dye plants were used, which the children made from the plants themselves at school.

The museum’s dye garden, for which the children sponsored, was also used. The children were highly motivated and also learned a lot about ecological relationships and were given an insight into lost knowledge.

Teacher Verena Steinert and museum educator Cordula Hamelmann help the children from the “Färbergarten AG garden school” on April 2nd, 2014 at 10.15 am to hang up the pictures in the museum. There they can be seen by the museum audience until May 4th, 2014.
